Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry will miss his next three games before his knee injury is re-evaluated, the team told reporters Tuesday.
The former Toronto Raptors star has been dealing with a left knee injury since December and did not play in the Heat’s last game over the weekend.
With the NBA trade deadline approaching on Thursday, Lowry’s name has appeared in several trade rumours. The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang reported on Monday that the Heat have been “receiving inquiries” about Lowry and that they may look to trade him.
In Lowry’s absence, Gabe Vincent is expected to slot into his spot in the starting lineup starting Wednesday when the Heat face the Indiana Pacers.
Lowry is averaging 12 points, 5.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds this season.
His scoring average is at its lowest number since 2009-10 when Lowry played for the Houston Rockets.
