The NBA suspended Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant Wednesday for “conduct detrimental to the league,” officials announced Wednesday, after the 23-year-old was taped on an Instagram Live video waving a gun at a Colorado strip club.

Is there a better way to be drafted into the NBA than the traditional route?
Two ways to become an NBA player are through college or high school.
NCAA schools are available to college students, such as Duke University, North Carolina State University, and the University of Kentucky. These schools offer training and education for four years. In this time, the players learn how to play ball handling, shooting, rebounding, and other skills. They learn how the offense and defense work together. They are also taught how to think like a professional athlete.
Prep schools in other states are available for high school students. These schools offer personalized attention and focus on talent development. They teach players academics, character building, and sportsmanship.
Both types players must pass the identical physical tests to be eligible for the draft. The test involves running 40 meters, jumping over a 5'6", standing on one foot, and throwing a football through tires.
The NBA invites players who have passed these tests to join in on workouts with other teams. Teams evaluate them based on their height, weight, wingspan, and speed.
Teams also consider their past experiences. A player who has played AAU basketball will be given preference.
