Massage Gun Flying: HEAT Center Dewayne Dedmon Launches Object on Court Leading to Ejection

The Miami HEAT’s game on Tuesday night was definitely a weird one. Already short-handed, the team’s backup center Dewayne Dedmon was ejected after hitting one of the massage guns behind the bench, which launched onto the court during the game.

Dedmon’s frustration boiled over after he had a disagreement with being subbed out of the game. The massage gun traveled 35 feet away from Demon, landing near members of both the HEAT and visiting Oklahoma City Thunder.

According to ESPN, HEAT coach Erik Spoelstra said the moment was a product of gnarly personalities.

“That part was unfortunate,” Spoelstra said. “Everything before that, that’s the Miami Heat. That part was unacceptable.”

Playing only five minutes of game time, Dedmon could face additional disciplinary action.

The HEAT would win the game, led by Jimmy Butler and Victor Oladipo. In the game, the team set the NBA record for free throws, going 40 for 40 from the charity stripe.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a trade exception within the NBA?

In the NBA, there is a trade exception that allows players to be traded away. This exception allows teams and players to be acquired whose salaries are greater than the ones they trade away. This exception can be used multiple times by a team and does not affect their salary cap. Trade exceptions are a valuable way for teams to adjust their rosters without having to shed salaries or change their roster composition during the season if they need to adjust. This allows for teams to compete and avoid situations in which some teams may have an unfair advantage because of their financial situation.

It keeps the league financially strong and gives teams the freedom to make moves without worrying about their finances. Trade exceptions can be used to help teams win championships and are an essential part in roster construction.

What is a buyout in NBA?

A buyout in the NBA is a contractual agreement between a team and a player. The team agrees that it will pay a portion or all of the contract amount that the player is entitled to. The agreement allows players to become free agent and sign with any team in league after their buyout is over. It allows teams to trim salaries or alter their roster composition as needed.

Who made the NBA's first basket?

Ossie Schectman was an American pro basketball player. He scored the first basket with the Basketball Association of America, which later became the National Basketball Association. On November 1, 1946, the Toronto Huskies defeated the New York Knickerbockers to score the basket. Schectman scored the historic first basket that opened the BAA's inaugural year.

What is the most accomplished NBA team of all time?

The answer to this question is subjective and will likely be debated among fans for years. The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics have the most NBA championships, with 17 titles. The Chicago Bulls had their heyday in the 1990s when they won six titles under Hall of Fame coach Phil Jackson. The San Antonio Spurs won five championships in the last decade, while the Golden State Warriors took home four. Other notable NBA teams are the Philadelphia 76ers, Kobe Shaq Lakers, and LeBron Jam's Miami Heat, who won back-to–back championships for 2012 and 2013.

How To

When an NBA player is injured, are they paid?

NBA players with guaranteed contracts get their money in full, even if they are unable or injured to play. Some even have made millions playing basketball without ever having to play a single game. Although they might lose out on bonuses and their contract could be cancelled after expiration, they will still receive the full amount. Non-guaranteed players will not typically receive any pay until their health allows them to return to the NBA. While the NBA may provide some assistance in the form of disability payments and a lump-sum settlement to those who are eligible, there is no guarantee that any payment will be made during an injury absence. The league and teams may also assist individuals in need on an individual basis.

The Injury Disability Plan can be used to help teams. It really depends on each person and the team's circumstances. Sometimes players can negotiate with their teams to get some money while they are out of town due to injury. Players need to understand that there are no guarantees when receiving payment when injured, but the team and the league can provide some assistance. Each situation is different and should be evaluated individually. The NBA has detailed rules for injuries and payment during injury absences. Knowing these rules can help players make agreements with their teams, or to make informed financial decisions about the future. If you have questions or concerns, it's important to seek professional advice.
